Honey Bare Learning Center · Erie, Colorado
Curious about dermaplaning, but wondering what happens before and after the appointment? Here’s a straightforward place to start. At Honey Bare Wax Bar, we’ll talk about your skin and goals before deciding whether treatment makes sense that day.
What does dermaplaning do?
Dermaplaning removes fine facial hair and surface dead skin with a professional blade. It is temporary exfoliation and hair removal, rather than a permanent solution or a treatment for an underlying skin condition. For our appointment options, see dermaplaning in Erie, CO.
How to prepare for dermaplaning
- Send your current skincare and relevant treatment history before your visit. Include retinoids, exfoliating products, prescription skin treatments, and recent procedures.
- Tell me about irritation, breakouts, cold sores, sunburn, or skin that has not fully healed. An appointment may need to wait.
- Keep preparation simple. Ask before adding a scrub, peel, facial waxing, or other exfoliating treatment around your appointment.
- Bring your questions. You do not need to figure out which products are compatible on your own.
Do not stop prescribed medication on your own. If a medical condition or prescription raises questions, speak with your prescribing clinician and contact the studio before booking.
Express dermaplaning or a dermaplaning facial?
Express Dermaplaning is $75 for 30 minutes. Choose this for a focused appointment with cleansing, dermaplaning, a hydrating finish, moisturizer, and SPF.
The Dermaplaning Facial is $130 for 75 minutes. This includes the Express treatment plus a hydrating mask and your choice of a scalp or hand-and-arm treatment during the mask. It is the option for a little more time in the room.
The longer appointment is not a promise of stronger exfoliation. Your skin’s condition and comfort guide what we do. Choose your service in our online booking menu.
What to expect during your visit
We’ll review your intake, discuss the finish you want, and assess whether to proceed. I’ll explain each part of the service and check in with you. Tell me if something feels uncomfortable; you never have to sit quietly through a concern.
Dermaplaning aftercare: keep it gentle
Use gentle skincare, moisturize, and protect your skin from the sun. Avoid picking or rubbing your face. Ask when to resume exfoliants, retinoids, makeup, or other treatments; the right timing depends on your skin and the service performed. Your appointment instructions take priority over a generic online timetable.
Temporary sensitivity can occur. Worsening redness, swelling, pain, or signs of infection warrant medical advice rather than another cosmetic treatment.
Common questions
Is this the same as facial waxing?
No. Waxing removes hair from the root; dermaplaning removes fine hair at the surface while exfoliating. If coarse lip or chin hair is your main concern, compare our facial waxing services and ask which approach fits your goal.
Can I combine it with brows or lashes?
We offer brow services and lash lifts and tinting. Ask about suitable timing before booking multiple treatments, especially when waxing or other exfoliation is involved.
How often should I book?
There is no single schedule for everyone. We’ll discuss your skin’s response and when another visit may be appropriate. More frequent exfoliation is not automatically better.
